KVKI is Going Old School with Another Feel Good ’80s and ’90s Weekend
If you ever wore leg warmers or owned a Swatch Watch, KVKI is the place to be this weekend! Don't worry, they're our favorite weekends to work, so we know you love the trip down memory lane, too!
Starting this Friday, September 23rd, 2022, at 3 pm with Bristol, we'll be celebrating all things that have to do with Swatch watches, Cabbage Patch Kids, and break dancing! Yep, we're bringing back all of the '80s and '90s hits you love and we'll keep the totally awesome tunes rolling through Sunday, September 25th at 7 pm when Delilah comes on. Are you ready to revisit the time of your life when we wore friendship bracelets, played with Care Bears, and watched Miami Vice? We sure are!
It's hard to believe, but in the '80s and early '90s, we thought Nintendo was the height of gaming, that Garbage Pail Kids were cool, and that Clara Peller really wanted to know, 'Where's the Beef?'. We also wore crazy stuff like slap bracelets, penny loafers, Jelly shoes, and hyper-colored shirts and wore out our VHS copy of the Top Gun volleyball scene. What were we thinking?!?!? We also idolized artists like Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Duran Duran! Don't forget about AOL and the pain we felt when our Tamagotchi digital pet died. Both men and women had frosted hair and we also wondered if Rachel and Ross would ever get back together on Friends.
Don't miss it when we serve all this pop-culture fun up for you on a platter this weekend as KVKI celebrates with wall-to-wall '80s and '90s super hits. And don't forget, wherever your travels take you this weekend, take 96.5 KVKI with you using the KVKI Mobile App.
