Want to Know the Stories Behind Sun of a Beach Music? Check Out Yacht Rock

While looking for inspiration for blog posts related to the Redd's Apple Ale Sun of a Beach Festival, I stumbled across one of the best series on YouTube — or at least I think so.

Yacht Rock tells fictional, behind-the-scenes stories of how some of the biggest chill hits of the 80s came to fruition.

The Best Kept Secret for a Low-Calorie Summer Drink

When I was a Budweiser girl, I had a saying — "Nobody likes a Bud girl with a Bud gut."

I love my beer, and I love my Jack Daniels even more. But in the months leading up to bikini season, when I do indulge in an adult beverage, I have a little secret: vodka and water.

This Crazy Parrothead Mask Is the Perfect Accessory for Sun of a Beach

I'm going to my first Jimmy Buffett concert in two weeks. I can't decide if I'm going coconut bra and grass skirt or bikini and cutoffs. I Be Jammin’: A Few of the Best Songs to Prepare for the Sun of a Beach Festival

I spent a weekend in Pensacola, Fla., several weeks ago. I got up on a sunny, breezy Saturday morning so excited because my morning run was not on the "dreadmill", but instead the bike path along the beach.

It wasn't until after I picked up my pace that I realized my mix of club and angry tunes that I normally run to were not going to work for the lackadaisical atmosphere of the beach town.

Elton John Rocked New Orleans; Get Ready SBC

Elton John is an artist who proves music can cross all demographics. Young, old, white, black, straight, gay - his show in New Orleans Friday night had the most diverse audience I've ever seen at a concert.

It was a sequin-studded, flamboyant and classy show - you won't believe the LED chandelier. Dressed in a blue sequined coat and pants with red glitter boots, Elton rocked a set list of nearly 30 songs over three hours with no intermission.
