Mudbug Madness is right around the corner. During a typical festival run, thousands of pounds of crawfish are cooked up for our enjoyment. But what life lesson can we learn from them?

It's Mudbug Madness week here in Northwest Louisiana!  What began in 1984 as a two-day street festival in downtown Shreveport is now one of Louisiana’s largest and most popular Cajun festivals in the entire state.

Mudbug Madness kicked off today at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport with the "Crawfish Eating Contest," and Kiss Country's very own Chris Evans won 2nd place. That marks two years in a row as the first runner-up. Good job, champ!

It's almost time for Mudbug Madness for this year. The festival opens on Thursday at noon in downtown Shreveport.

One year ago, I was having some fun at Mudbug Madness with my older son. He'll miss it this year, but I will enjoy it on his behalf.
