Shreveport Parks and Recreation, affectionately known as SPAR, is always active bringing the latest and greatest to Shreveport. Their latest endeavor is to ensure the pantry is stocked at the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

SPAR (Shreveport Parks and Recreation) has teamed up with the Bilberry Community Center Park Advisory Board for the 17th Annual Merry Berry Christmas Festival at Bilberry Park Community Center in Shreveport kicking off Friday, December 6th!

Festival Plaza is getting ready to get even more festive! SPAR is bringing the KCS Holiday Express Train back again this year.

Around this time of year, kids pick up pen and paper to write their letters to Santa Claus. And, this year, Santa will even personally respond via SPAR's "The Santa Express!"

The Shreveport Police Department’s Police Pastors, working with officials from SPAR, will be holding one of their celebrated Youth Activity Day events this Friday at Valencia Park.

Like the old saying... I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream... And what a great way to kick off a 3-day weekend! And Friday, it's a full-on ice cream party as Shreveport public assembly and recreation, better known as SPAR, gets ready for their 15th annual ice cream social.

Here comes summer! That’s right, the un-official start of summer is upon us as we cruise into Memorial Day weekend. Before we get too excited about a three day weekend, let’s not forget to take some time to recognize the Holiday itself and to observe the men and women who have given their lives in the armed services.
