When Does History Channel’s New Series Hatfields and McCoy’s ‘White Lightning’ Air?

The 'Hatfields & McCoy's' mini-series was a huge hit for The History Channel last year and now the network is set to release a new series based on the long running family feud.

'Hatfields and McCoy's' 'White Lightning' premieres Thursday, August 1 at 9 p.m. The Hatfields and McCoys still live along the West Virginia and Kentucky border on the same property that has been the site of notorious feuds for more than 150 years. The two families still don’t get along, even though they have signed treaties and tried to mend fences. There's still lots of bad blood. Now, the two families are coming together for a reality tv show. 'Hatfields and McCOYS: WHITE LIGHTNING' follows the current real-life descendants of Randall McCoy and Devil Anse Hatfield will try to work together to brew moonshine which is now legal in West Virginia. The McCoy patriarch these days is Jim Quick, a direct maternal descendent of Randall McCoy. He is being asked to team with Mark Hatfield to create a Hatfield & McCoy moonshine. As part of the show, both families would have to give up their secret moonshine recipes and work together to get the moonshine to store shelves.
