World’s Largest Gumball [PHOTOS]

It amazes me as to what people will do with their free time. Most people knit, garden, or do yoga. Barry Chappell used his free time, and 95,200 pieces of gum to get into the record books for the largest gumball in the world.

The worlds largest gumball has meager beginnings during a flight that Barry Chappell made to Europe in 2006. A former heavy smoker and chewing Nicorette to keep smoke free. On the flight to Europe Barry had no place to dispose of his chewed Nicorette gum so he had to roll it into a ball and put it in his pocket. Barry jokingly came up with the idea for the gumball, and as you can tell this is one joke that has a life of its own.

The gumball weighs 75 pounds and is 62” around. Barry spent six years creating his monster ball of chewed Nicorette gum.
