We raced to cure breast cancer this weekend -- literally! The Susan G. Komen Foundation held its 18th annual Race for the Cure on September 15 at the CenturyLink Center and we were there bright and early. Being the competitive pair that we are, we decided it would be fun to spice up the race a little, laying down some ground rules that would give Erin a definite advantage come race time. But was it enough?

Though Erin enjoyed an eleven-and-a-half minute head start, Robert put on his game face once the wait was over. He finished the 5k walk in just over 50 minutes with the time penalty added. Erin crossed the finish line at the one hour and two minute mark.

Friendly competition aside, we had a blast and felt honored to take part in such an important event. Thanks to Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Northwest Louisiana for all their hard work and dedication and all you KVKI listeners who came out to walk with us. We are the cure.
