new dad

My friend Chaz called me today and we were catching up on families and a few other things. I have always respected Chaz for  his parenting skills. He is a husband to 3 wonderful kids (2 girls and a little boy). They are the nicest family, with great values...

My wife claims our soon to be newborn little girl is just like me with my attitude. I take that as a compliment. Well...kind of. Seems as though the baby likes me. As I mentioned a little while ago, she is kicking. From what I have found, she is a bit feisty...

Maybe I am the odd-ball here. I am totally excited that my wife and I are adding to the family. I won't lie, it scares the heck out of me. I am already a Dad, but the number one thing in my life is my family, my wife and kids.

You know what is so cool, is seeing my son get into the role of being a big brother. He is 4, so every morning I get him up, bring him out to the living room and make him breakfast and let him slowly wake up. Of course the TV is on his show, Caillou...

So for the past week my wife has been pretty quiet. Not that she talks alot, but she is never dead silent, so I figured something was bothering her. Being pregnant, it could have been a lot of factors, as she has had some pain from the baby kicking and general discomfort...

So for the months before my wife was pregnant, she told me how easy this would be. Our son was no problem, she had no morning sickness, she didn't have mood swings, lots of energy  andno pain, other than he sat right in her back and caused some discomfort...

So it all started about a year ago when my wife and I decided we would like to add to our family. The great part is, I am already Dad to my wife's 4 year old son. He and his Mom are the best thing ever in my life. What has cared the heck out of me are all the things people say to you when you are a parent of a newborn, of which I have never experienced...
